The Search is on for Marston's Pub Company Stars of 2008
As the excitement of the Oscars is to the film world, so too are the Marston's Pub Company annual awards to the pub industry. And, this year is by no means an exception, as we launch our 2008 search for the best pubs in the estate.
In its seventh year, the competition looks set to be as fiercely contested as ever, with our best pubs competing for the top titles and receiving the well-earned recognition as stars in the trade - not to mention the continued business and publicity support to boost trade even further.
In addition to the prestigious top prize of Marston's Pub Company Pub of the Year, there are nine categories to choose from including Beer Quality, Customer experience, Family, Community, Pub Food, Fine Dining, Newcomer, as well as Best Mini and Major Refurbishment.
Marston's Pub Company Managing Director Stephen Oliver admits that the standards are stronger by the year and decisions are tough. He said: "The awards, like all years, are designed to recognise the very best retailers in our estate. It is our way of saying thank you to retailers for their hard work, determination and success especially through this difficult trading climate. It's about finding those that shine the brightest and celebrating their success."
All Marston's Pub Company licensees have until Friday 30th May to complete the forms, with judging taking place between June and August. The awards evening is being held at The Belfry, Sutton Coldfield on November 13th.
As in previous years, the awards have attracted high profile sponsors and judges including Britvic, Brulines, Bulmers, CAMRA, Catered4thekids.co.uk, Carling, Diageo, Foster@s, Hardy's, Marston's Beer Company, Pub Chef Magazine, Pub in the Hub, The Publican and Stella Artois.
