We offer a wide selection of quality pubs to visit as well as great business opportunities and support.
Whether you are new to the trade or have some knowledge we have a package that will help support you.
Your first point of call is the BII'S Pre-Entry Awareness Training (PEAT); an e-learning package that identifies the main issues which need to be considered and investigated before signing a pub tenancy or lease agreement with us. It is accredited by BIIAB, the Ofqual regulated awarding body which is part of BII, the professional body for the licensed retail industry.
If you are considering a pub lease or tenancy in England or Wales then taking PEAT will give you the necessary knowledge to evaluate the agreement which you are seeking to enter.
The programme costs £20 + VAT and will take on average 2 hours to complete. To access the PEAT online learning site follow this link. http://elearning.bii.org/estore/.
You will need to demonstrate that you have completed the PEAT course before we are able to offer you an agreement for a tenancy or lease.
The "Stepping Stones" workshops have been developed to help you get fully equipped with the necessary expertise to succeed in the pub & club business.
Our workshops have elements to assist both newcomers and experienced licensees.
The workshops steer well away from the rigid concept of training and introduces a completely practical approach. Designed to be both relevant and engaging, the 'hands on' scheme gives new and existing licensees the skills needed to run a profitable pub.
"I found the meetings were a very good opportunity to bounce ideas and get feedback (I will be hunting for hot dogs today!!). The Five Books have been and will continue to be an invaluable reference guide to help improve my business and keep me on the right side of the law."
Andrea @ The Ostrich, Derby
The whole programme is not exclusive to licensees either; it is for their staff too!
We recognise that eighty percent of sales made in pubs are by staff, and that how they work is an essential factor in a pub's success.
The focus is on building the business bit by bit. The workshops are unique in the industry and offers a flexible programme which gives value for money as opposed to the expensive, rigid, old style courses. The programme aims to make ordering from 'The Bar' straightforward for those wanting to expand or improve a part of their business.
The emphasis is on: "we won't tell you how - we'll show you how". By listening to what people say they need, we have put together the most common sense, straightforward programme available.
